Domus 1 improves the prevention and treatment of low risk pressure ulcers. The lightweight and compact design of the alternating pressure pad allows caregivers to set up and deliver pressure relief care efficiently. Domus 1 can be placed over the existing mattress to provide periodic pressure relief treatments without the hassle of relocating the patient.
Domus 2 is an upgrade of Domus 1 with the heel slope design that improves heel pressure relief by supporting the back of the heel and increasing in-contact surface area, effectively distributing pressure across the lower leg. Domus 2 provides accessible and reliable pressure relief care with its compact pad design and ease of use.

All air cells are made from Thermoplastic Polyurethanes (TPU). It is highly resistant to breaking down when in contact with water (hydrolysis), soft to touch, and minimizes friction and noise during patient movements.
Cell-in-cell design refers to encapsulating a firm air cell within a larger outer cell, doubling the effect of firmness and stability for patients. Wellell’s Domus Series, including Domus 1 & 2, uses air cells with the cell-in-cell design in the sacrum area to improve patient support and comfort during sitting positions and when patients leave and enter the bed.
The cover is made with nylon/PU and is vapor permeable, fire-resistant, and water-resistant. See specifications for more details on the fire-retardant standards.
